The Options Project allows users to create product add-ons within the Webflow CMS. Each add-on is treated as a separate product, enabling customers to customize their purchases by adding additional items to their cart, although these items are processed in separate orders.

Key Features:

  • Natively integrates product add-ons in Webflow CMS, allowing for enhanced product customization.
  • Utilizes a switch feature to filter products that can have add-ons, ensuring only relevant products are displayed.
  • Supports a dual product grid setup, where one grid displays basic product options and the other shows fixed box items.

Design Elements:

  • Grid layout for product display, facilitating easy navigation and selection.
  • Use of a switch toggle to manage product add-ons, enhancing user interaction.
  • Clean and organized presentation of products, ensuring a straightforward shopping experience.

Potential Use Cases:

  • E-commerce websites looking to offer customizable products, such as clothing or electronics.
  • Online marketplaces that require additional features for product listings, like add-ons or accessories.
  • Subscription services that allow users to select additional items for their monthly boxes.

Conclusion: The Options Project provides a practical solution for e-commerce platforms seeking to enhance product offerings through customizable add-ons, making it a valuable resource for Webflow developers.

Description from Webflow:
Natively create product add ons in Webflow CMS. The limitation is each add on is treated as a separate product. The setup: 1. In the products page I created a products grid with all of my basic options (name, add to cart ect). 2. I then nested a second cms collection, within that product grid, that was to pull its data from the products database, however I made sure that it only pulled in products that had a switch, called “add ons”, turned on. This lets customers add additional items to cart, however it doesn’t all go through in one order (only downside). 3. I then selected the entire product grid and duplicated it. On the second grid I deleted the nested collection list and set the whole grid to only display on the fixed box items. 4. I finally selected the original product grid, with the nested collection list, and set it to display only on products that were to have add ons.
